canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? [Job 38:32]

12. The ur-constellation of The Singer is a transformation of the
constellation, Bootes, the Shepherd. We now know that along
with the 26,000 year precession of the equinoxes that there is
a 26,000 year circular motion of the northern and southern
pole stars. The precession of the equinoxes is how we name
our ‘Ages’. (We are currently at the end of the Age of Pisces,
slowly moving into the Age of Aquarius, for example.)

The circle you see in the drawing marks the 260 century motion
of the apparent center of our heavens. The meaning expressed
here is one of hope and felt connection with the entire evolution
of life of Earth that can be known through song and singing. Like
all ur-constellations, The Singer is a prayer for the goodness, beauty
and truth of the life of humanity and the planet to endure in right
relationship. Based on the experience of No Man’s Land during
my Truce Walk on Christmas Eve in 2014, I think that singing the best
way for us to bring forth a healthy culture sustained by the same
Beauty that sustains the cosmos.
